A Grand First Impression: The REDMAGIC 10S Pro Loves an Entrance

The REDMAGIC 10S Pro has caused quite the stir since its launch, pushing several of our fans to get their hands on the latest flagship device. In this blog article, we take a look at some of the main feedback and reviews of the 10S Pro to see how it’s being received.

Performance That Thrills

A major element of the 10S Pro is its Snapdragon 8 Elite Leading Version chipset that joins forces with our enhanced RedCore R3 Pro to elevate your power. This ensures superior agility and seamless processing power for the most demanding AAA games. 

Jack Wallen, from ZDNET, had an interesting experiment in place where he tried to replace his Pixel 9 Pro with the REDMAGIC 10S Pro to see how our gaming smartphone would fend for itself. Previously, Wallen had found that our 10 Pro was a phone worthy of replacing his Pixel 9 Pro. Now, he was even further impressed by the 10S Pro, which he states really “gives the performance a bump.”

A core feature that he appreciated in the 10S Pro, as well as in any of our other recent phones, was the gorgeous UI. Wallen was floored by the fluid, elegant, and fast REDMAGIC OS. He went on to say that he had not seen a take on Android that is this polished to date. To really put the performance to the test, Wallen ran the Geekbench app on his Pixel 9 Pro and our REDMAGIC 10S Pro to see which would come out on top.

To no one’s surprise, the 10S Pro, with its Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, blew away the Pixel 9 Pro in the CPU benchmark and got significantly higher scores in both single-core and multi-core processing. GMS Arena also put the 10S Pro through a few tests and found that the phone’s GPU overclock has a bigger impact on gaming and helped the 10S Pro open up a lead on competing devices in the Wild Life Extreme benchmark. This translates to higher FPS in games that weren’t hitting the refresh rate cap and more stable gameplay in games that were.

According to Android Central, we’ve delivered a gaming phone without any notable shortcomings. Their glowing review of the phone states that it's ultimately “a beast of a gaming phone.”  When it comes to performance, they state that the 10S Pro features the best internals of any device used yet, citing the impressive 144Hz AMOLED panel display, massive 7,050mAh battery, ultrasonic triggers, and clean software. 

The review went on to agree with us in positioning the 10S Pro as one of the fastest devices around today, stating that the phone doesn't slow down or lag whatsoever, and that we had done a good job optimizing the software to take advantage of the beastly Qualcomm silicon.

Mike Sorrentino wrote a review on the phone for CNET and described it as one of the most powerful phones he had ever tested. In his performance benchmarks of the device, the 10S Pro heartily beats last year's 10 Pro and the Asus ROG Phone 9 Pro, which both run on the earlier edition of the Elite processor. The 10S Pro even beats the $1,300 Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, all while costing hundreds of dollars less.

Naturally, Sorrentino pushed the limits of gaming on the 10S Pro as well and tested it out with Mortal Kombat Mobile and Dead Cells, since both titles include support for high frame rates. The 10S Pro seamlessly booted both games up while running at 120 to 144 frames per second. He also tried out Xbox Cloud Gaming to play Doom: The Dark Ages, which he found benefited from the uninterrupted 1.5 K-resolution display that places the front-facing camera behind the display.

Enhanced Cooling

For a phone with such mighty power, you need cooling that can keep up. This is why our 10S Pro also features a new ICE-X cooling system with repositioned liquid metal 2.0. This ensures smoother gameplay, rapid processing, and efficient and customizable heat dissipation.

When reviewing the phone, Tech Nick mentioned the enhanced cooling capacity and applauded the phone’s larger vapor chamber and the improved and repositioned liquid metal 2.0, which elevates thermal conductivity and seamlessly drops CPU temperatures by up to 5°C, which in turn improves thermal performance and gaming stability.

Designed to Enthral 

To push the limits of design and display engineering, the 10S Pro sports a 1.5K full-screen BOE AMOLED display with an immersive screen. Writing for Tech Advisor, Martyn Casserly was also put under a spell by the 10S Pro and claimed that it was a “fantastic mobile gaming platform that boasts power, battery life. and advanced cooling, but without the scary price tag.” When it came to design, she was glad that the 10S Pro stuck with a similar frame to the 10 Pro, stating that we chose a tried and tested format that delivers a solid, premium feeling handset that’s purpose-built for mobile gaming.

Casserly was also impressed by the display of the phone and claimed that the 1.5K (2688 x 1216) resolution is very sharp, with bright, warm colours rendered consistently throughout the system. She went on to state that the maximum brightness of 2,000 nits means that you’d be able to see things clearly, even when you’re outside in the sun. In her own tests, she found that the levels reached just over 1,200 in normal use, which is still bright enough to make you squint. She also enjoyed the seamless display brought by the smaller bezels, barely-there under-display selfie camera, and 95.3% screen-to-body ratio. 

Power That Keeps Up

The 10S Pro also packs a punch when it comes to power that endures. In fact, Tech Spurt was rightly impressed by the 7,050 mAh battery and called it one of the biggest smartphone batteries he had ever tested. He found that even Wuthering Waves, a game renowned for sapping power, would play seamlessly on the 10S Pro for close to five full hours, even with every setting pushed to the max. He also enjoyed that the phone came with an 80W GAN charger that would easily get you powered up again in under an hour.

A Gaming Victor

The 10S Pro prides itself on being a superior gaming smartphone that can easily handle demanding AAA titles, while giving you access to several plugins, gaming modes, and shoulder trigger features. Tech Spurt reviewed the phone on his YouTube channel and was blown away by its gaming capabilities. Naturally, our fans can easily access GameSpace with the Magic Key on the side by default, then seamlessly customize gaming settings accordingly as well. You also have Eco, Balance, Rise, and Diablo gaming modes to toggle through for different games.

When playing Wuthering Waves, Tech Spurt used maxed-out graphics settings and found that the 10S Pro maintained its perfectly stable 60 frames per second. He also saw that even after playing for almost 2 hours, the phone barely dipped in performance and framerates. According to him, our promise that the phone would allow you to “Win More Games” is no joke and actually earned him an MVP while gaming. He went on to conclude that if users are looking for a gaming smartphone that would last them years and years, the 10S Pro is a phone he couldn’t imagine struggling with any major titles anytime soon.

Again, with Tech Advisor’s review, the 10S Pro also provided seamless gameplay across several graphically demanding titles, such as Asphalt Legends Unite, Genshin Impact, PUBG, and a few others. Casserly found the performance to be consistently high, with the 2,500Hz instant touch sampling rates of the display making controls feel responsive. For them, the framerates remained steady with no drop-offs during combat-heavy scenes, and the new cooling system kept things to temperatures that remained comfortable in the hand.
